Sharon Leslie Acoose is from the Sakimay First Nation in Saskatchewan. She is an Assistant Professor with the School of Indian Social Work at the First Nations University of Canada. Her personal life and interests contribute to her hope to make a real difference in the lives of other Indian woman.
Didier Acier
Didier Acier, Ph.D., is a research psychologist with the Dollard-Cormier Centre at the University Institute in Addictions (Montréal, Québec). He is the lead researcher for a project on the assessment of cyberaddicted individuals and has written a report with Laurence Kern entitled Balises pour l’intervention auprès des personnes cyberdépendantes (Guidelines for intervening with cyberaddicted individuals).
Trish Alisch
Trish Alisch is a Mental Health Educator with the Department of National Defence, working with members who are suffering with operational stress injuries. Trish believes in the importance of education and early intervention to prevent long-term suffering and loss.
Kristina Anstiss
Kristina Anstiss has been working within the substance use profession for over 10 years and is currently an Addictions Counsellor with the YMCA Youth Substance Abuse Program.
Shaughney Aston
Shaughney Aston is an Addiction Services clinical therapist in a rural Nova Scotia Community Health Centre, and a lecturer in the M.Ed. Counselling program at Acadia University. Her professional interests deal primarily with the overlaps of addiction, gender and rurality.

Kim Barker
Kim Barker is a Public Health Advisor with the Assembly of First Nations and a graduate of McMaster Medical School and University of Toronto Family and Community Medicine. Kim is Secretariat member on the First Nations Addictions Advisory Panel for the NNADAP Renewal Program Framework.
Karine Bertrand
Karine Bertrand, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and research professor in the addiction studies program at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sherbrooke. Her research interests include addicted youth and adults with related issues of delinquency and mental health.
Shaun Black
Shaun Black is the Manager of Pharmacological and Research Services, Addiction Prevention and Treatment Services, Capital Health District. He is primarily responsible for advising and maintaining current pharmacological information on drugs of abuse, developing protocols to manage drug withdrawal, and for developing knowledge-based research infrastructure.
Catrina Brown
Catrina Brown, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the School of Social Work at Dalhousie Univeristy and cross-appointed to Gender and Women's Studies and Nursing. She conducts research in the area of women, eating "disorders", body image, trauma and sexual abuse, deprssion, harm reduction and alcohol use problems.
Jane Buxton
Jane Buxton is an assistant professor in the School of Population and Public Health at University of British Columbia and physician epidemiologist and harm reduction lead at BC Centre for Disease Control. Her area of interest includes hepatitis C and harm reduction.

Eileen Carey
Eileen Carey is the Manager of Addiction Services for the Nova Scotia Department of Health Promotion and Protection. She is responsible for establishing and developing policies and standards for the delivery of services. She is a registered trainer in the NADA protocol.
Lorri Carlson
Lorri Carlson is Executive Director of the Mental Health and Addiction Services, Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region. A Registered Psychologist, she has managed both mental health and addiction programs for over 15 years.
Krystel Carrier-Sabourin
Krystel Carrier-Sabourin is a National Priority Advisor on the Children and Youth national priority at the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse. Krystel holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs and is currently working towards a Ph.D. at the Royal Military College of Canada.
Gloria Chaim
Gloria Chaim is the Deputy Clinical Director, Child Youth & Family Program, CAMH and Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto. Her primary focus is developing collaborations across services and sectors to develop, evaluate and disseminate innovative processes and programs to build capacity for children, youth, women and families.
Catharine Chambers
Catharine Chambers is a Master of Science student in the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia and a MSFHR/CIHR Bridge Strategic Training Fellow. She is a recipient of a MSFHR Junior Graduate Studentship as well as a CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship.
Jim Cincotta
Jim Cincotta is the Senior Projector Coordinator at Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami and is Co-Chair of the National Treatment Leadership Team. He holds a Master’s degree in Education and has worked in Inuit communities for many years.
Natalie Cochrane
Natalie Cochrane is the Manager of Prevention and Problem Gambling Services for Addiction Services with the Department of Health Promotion and Protection. Natalie is a graduate of both Acadia University and Wilfrid Laurier University. She has a Master of Social Work.
Louis-Georges Cournoyer
Louis-Georges Cournoyer, Ph.D., is a professor at the School of Criminology, University of Montréal. He is the lead researcher for a study supported by the FQRSC on the implementation assessment of the Alcochoix+ program. He is a researcher with RISQ and the International Centre for Comparative Criminology.
Victoria Creighton
Dr. Victoria Creighton is Clinical Director, Pine River Institute. Victoria has a doctorate in clinical psychology and has been practicing for over ten years. She has training and experience in treating drug and alcohol abuse, disordered eating, autism, ADD/ADHD, and self-harm, and has a sub-specialty in treating adolescent women.
Mary Cripton
Mary Cripton has worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor in the field of addictions for 19 years in residential and community settings, with adults and adolescents, in Canada and the Cayman Islands. Currently, she is Clinical Program Manager for Quality and Community of Practice at APTS in Halifax, N.S.
Robin Cuff
Robin Cuff is Manager for Scarborough Addiction Services Partnership and worked previously at the University Health Network, Salvation Army’s New Choices - Women and Children Addictions Treatment Program and Homestead Women’s Addiction Treatment Centre.

Patrick Daigle
Patrick Daigle, M.S.W., R.S.W., has worked with Addiction Prevention and Treatment Services in Halifax for the past three years as a Community Outreach Worker.
Jeff Daiter
Dr. Daiter is the current Chief Medical Director of the Ontario Addiction Treatment Centres, a network of 27 methadone maintenance clinics. He is currently certified by the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine, a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
Annette Dale-Perera
Annette has been Strategic Director of Addiction and Offender Care for Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust since June 2009. She is responsible for a large network of drug and alcohol services that provides treatment to approximately 10,000 patients annually in the community and in prisons. Prior to this, Annette was Director of Quality for six years at the National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse—the government body responsible for overseeing the expansion of drug treatment in England. While in this post, she led the development of suites of national guidance including “Drug Misuse and Dependence: UK guidelines on clinical management” (2007), and the suite of “Models of Care” documents that outlined new national frameworks for drug and alcohol treatment. She also ran a national annual inspection program of drug treatment and was key in developing a new national outcome-based monitoring system—or Treatment Outcome Profile (TOP).
Brian Danyliw
Brian Danyliw is the manager of Addiction Services for the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region. He has a Master’s in Social Work and has worked for over 20 years as a senior clinician and manager in the mental health and addictions field.
Colleen Dell
Colleen Anne Dell is the Research Chair in Substance Abuse at the University of Saskatchewan and a Senior Research Associate at CCSA. Her current research focuses on women and substance abuse, self-harm among criminalized women, and equine interventions among Aboriginal youth who abuse solvents.
Debra Dell
Debra Dell is the national coordinator for the Saskatchewan Youth Solvent Addiction Committee.
Chantal Desgranges
Chantal Desgranges is a member of the National Treatment Strategy (NTS) Leadership Team and works for the City of Toronto. She has contributed her insight on community experience and harm reduction to the NTS Working Group and Ontario Methadone Treatment Practices Task Force.
Pierre Desrosiers
Pierre Desrosiers is a counsellor, Professional Affairs, with the Québec Addiction Rehabilitation Centres Association. He is a psychologist and has more than 30 years of clinical and management experience, mainly in the addiction network. He has also worked in the field of mental health and youth with problems.
Bev Drew
Bev Drew, B.A.Sc., M.Sc. , is a Program Coordinator, FASCD Prevention, Saskatchewan Prevention Institute. Her strengths include working in programs focusing on early childhood special education, community development, and working with individuals with addictions and mental health issues.
Lynne Duguay
Lynne Duguay is the assistant to the CEO at the Ubald-Villeneuve Rehabilitation Centre, a public centre dedicated to the treatment of addiction in the Québec City area. She has contributed to the implementation of services to pathological gamblers in Québec and the development of a liaison team model.

Gwenyth B. Dwyn, M.A., is the Prevention and Health Promotion Coordinator for Addiction Services, Annapolis Valley Health. She has professional experience as a facilitator, educator and community developer in Canadian, US and third-world settings.

Dr. Robert Gilbert is an Assistant Professor in the School of Health Sciences at Dalhousie University. He is a clinical research scientist with expertise in evidence-based medicine and addictions.
Abby Goldstein
Abby Goldstein is an Assistant Professor of Counselling Psychology at OISE/The University of Toronto. Her research examines alcohol and substance use among adolescents and young adults, including risks and comorbidities associated with substance use, the link between childhood maltreatment and substance use, and factors associated with motivation to change.
Robert Graham
Robert Graham is the Clinical Manager, Community Based Services for the Colchester East Hants District Health Authority. Robert is also a part time faculty member in the Psychology Department at Saint Mary's University.
Greg Graves
Greg Graves is on an interchange at the First Nations Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) at Health Canada. Greg is a Senior Policy and Program Analyst and Advisor at the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse. Greg has led several national workforce development projects and a current major focus is the NNADAP Renewal Framework.
Dale Gruchy
Dale Gruchy has been an instructor facilitating the Addictions Counseling Program within the Nova Scotia Community College for the last decade. During this time she developed student curricula and participated in collaborative activities with other addictions organizations.

Dave Hedlund
Dave Hedlund, M.Ed. (Psych) has been involved in program and policy development at a provincial level, and in the management of large regional service systems for the past 20 years. He has initiated and led many inter-agency initiatives at the regional and provincial levels in Saskatchewan, including the Regina and Area Drug Strategy. Earlier this year, Dave left the position of Executive Director of Mental Health and Addiction in Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region and joined the NTS implementation team.
Joanna Henderson
Dr. Joanna Henderson is a Psychologist and Clinician Scientist with the Child, Youth & Family Program at CAMH and has worked extensively with young people with complex behavioural and emotional needs and their families. Currently, Dr. Henderson’s research focuses on evidence-based practices for youth with concurrent disorders and knowledge translation.

Jeff Karabanow
Dr. Jeff Karabanow is a Full Professor at Dalhousie University and writes about homelessness. He is working on a SSHRC-funded film about street youth; an HRSDC-funded investigation concerning street youth and labour in Canada and Guatemala; and a CMHC-funded study of Halifax’s Supportive Housing for Young Mothers.
Elva Keip
Elva Keip is the National Priority Advisor with the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse focusing on workforce development. She has contributed to creating differentiated substance abuse treatment programs used by drug courts and prisons. She has also designed substance abuse education/training programs.
Christopher Kennedy Lawford
Christopher Kennedy Lawford is an author, speaker and Public Advocacy Consultant with a leading US non-profit provider of addiction treatment. He has focused much of his life on public service in the non-profit sector, working for the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation, The Special Olympics and the Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. He was recently appointed to the California Public Health Advisory Committee.
Marvin Krank
Dr. Marvin Krank is a Psychologist who studies the social and cognitive factors in substance use transitions in adolescents. He has conducted longitudinal studies on these transitions and experimental studies on changes in these cognitions. Recently, he has developed and evaluated targeted interventions based on social cognitive risks.
Dan Kunic
Dan Kunic works with the Research Branch, Correctional Service Canada. He holds a Master's degree in Applied Health Services Research from the University of Prince Edward Island.
Diane Kunyk
Diane Kunyk, RN, PhD (c), SSHRC Doctoral Fellow, University of Alberta, is studying the theoretical and applied aspects of health ethics as it informs health policy in the substantive area of addiction. Diane has a background in: policy development, implementation and research: public, population and community health, and nursing education.

Holly MacKay is the Team Leader and Senior Policy Analyst with the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Team in the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). Since 1978, she has worked with a variety of community women's health organizations; she joined the FASD Team in PHAC in 2001.

Anita Narvie lives on Eel River Bar First Nations, NB and has completed three years of a business degree. She hopes to work in some aspect of alcohol and drug programming on her reserve, and loves to work with others who face similar struggles as her own.
Bill Nelles
Bill Nelles is the Vice Chair of NOTAC. From 1999 to 2004, he was the Chief Executive of The Alliance, a UK-based treatment advocacy group. In 2004 he returned to his native Canada and now works as a counselor in a primary-care-led treatment program on Vancouver Island.
Alison Niccols
Alison Niccols, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and the Clinical Director/Psychologist in the Infant-Parent Program at McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. Her research interests include atypical development, early intervention, and knowledge translation.

Alan Nutini is a Corporal with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and is currently with the Drugs and Organized Crime Awareness Service. Prior to joining the RCMP, Al earned a university degree in Criminology.

Rod Olfert is a Knowledge Broker and Senior Research and Policy Analyst with the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, working on the workforce development priority. He has worked in the substance abuse workforce for 26 years as a treatment counsellor, program developer, and educator.

Hélène Simoneau
Hélène Simoneau, Ph.D. in Psychology, is a researcher with Dollard-Cormier Centre, University Institute in Addictions. Author of the Alcochoix+ program, she trained workers who participated in the pre-experiment in the spring of 2004 and now trains the trainers who continue the dissemination efforts.
Robert Simpson
Robert Simpson has served as President and CEO of the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre since its inception in 2000. He has served as Clinical Assistant Professor (part-time) at the Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University and, on a part-time basis, provides legal consultation and analysis of serving practices in alcohol-related liability cases.

George Stones
George Stones, Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto, is the Coordinator of the Central Ontario District MMT program, run under the auspices of Psychological Services, Correctional Service of Canada. He was involved in the development and implementation of this innovative MMT program, which remains the only of its kind in Canada.

Franco Vaccarino
Dr. Franco Vaccarino is Principal, University of Toronto Scarborough and Vice-President, University of Toronto. He was previously chair of the Department of Psychology, University of Toronto. He is the past Head of the Neuroscience Program in the Department of Psychiatry at U of T, and past Executive Vice-President, Programs, and Vice President, Research at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Don Ward
Don Ward has worked in various aspects of the addictions field for 30 years. Most recently, he coordinates 28 on-site school-based projects in Manitoba designed to provide early intervention and education to young people involved with alcohol, other drugs and gambling.
